Question:

Do I have to add an electrical power line when flat towing my 2016 Cadillac SRX to keep things charged or to keep my steering wheel unlocked?

I checked with Roadmaster and Blue Ox and neither recommended putting in a charge line like item # RM-156-25 when flat towing your 2016 Cadillac SRX. However, I took a look at your owner's manual and it says you have to keep your battery connected. This has been known to drain batteries so it wouldn't hurt to install a charge line if you run into a dead battery down the road or just want to be extra cautious.

If you have any additional questions feel free to email me directly.

To flat tow your 2016 Cadillac SRX you will need the following parts:

Tow Bar and Safety Chains - Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar item # RM-520 and item # RM-643

Crossbar Assembly - Crossbar Assembly for Roadmaster Tow Bars item # 910021-00

Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms item # RM-523162-4

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267

Supplemental Braking System - Blue Ox Patriot Radio Frequency item # BLU37TR

High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter. I have linked a FAQ article that explains all this in more detail along with our selection of adapters.
