Determining The Correct Replacement Trailer Suspension Components To Upgrade Ride Quality

Question:

I just want to be sure I have everything measured correctly, so I am attaching the measurements that I got. One more thing. The frame is 2" wide and that would leave 1" on either side of the frame when the spring is touching the frame. Is that acceptable? See attachment.

We don't currently have a match for the equalizer so if yours is still in good shape then I recommend keeping it to avoid having to change up your suspension even more to get it to sit correctly. We can swap it out but you'll likely need to swap out the leaf springs and shackle straps to different lengths as well and we'd need to get it in place first and then measure to determine the correct sizes.

You can still swap out the shackle straps and bolts for wet bolts and and thicker straps with the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailers - 2-1/4" Long Shackle Straps # MR46ZR.

The frame not completely matching the diameter of the SumoSprings isn't going to matter. You will need to choose the correct kit for your suspension setup though. Since you have 3,500lb axles you can use the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs w/ Line Relocation Bracket # TSS-107-40 if your axles sit below the leaf springs. If your axles are above the leaf springs then you'll need part # TSS-106-40 instead. With the # TSS-106-40 you'll need 6" - 8-5/8" of clearance between the frame and leaf spring plate.
