It is recommended to using a Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3670 since you have the short bed on your 2023 Ram 2500. This is recommended since you will not have the clearance required to make a full jackknife turn if you only had a Fixed 5th Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3600. The sliding 5th wheel moves the center point of the king pin back 12" when positioned in the maneuver position.

There are some situations where you are able to use the Fixed # BWRVK3600 hitch if you have a pivoting pin box on the trailer. A pivoting pin box like the Sidewinder # RP77FR changes the pivot point from the 5th wheel hitch to the mount at the trailer. This provides you with the turning clearance needed so you will not require a sliding 5th wheel hitch. As these are not the most commonly used pin boxes the sliding 5th wheel is the safest way to go with a short bed.
