Troubleshooting Kwikee RV Steps That Only Extend And Retract 90% Of The Way
Question:
kwickee steps are only extending and retracting about 90 of the way. all other functions appear normal. do i need new controller? current actuator is AMP 110 -1037.

Most likely there's an issue with either the power or ground so I recommend first checking the voltage with a multimeter # PT89ZR and then your ground connection to ensure it isn't corroded over. From there I would check the wiring for any damages, cuts, or kinks that could be causing the malfunction. I would also check the side hinges of the steps to ensure that they're not gummed up or rusted, preventing them from their full range of motion.
If everything so far is good then you most likely would need to replace the control module. I would want to know a bit more about your specific model before recommending a replacement to ensure that you're getting the correct one.
If you can send me some pictures of the tag on the bottom of the mounting bracket I'd be happy to look up your model and find the correct replacement.
