I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13268 for your 2017 Volvo XC60. This receiver is made in the USA and has a 2" opening for ball mounts and other hitch mounted accessories. For towing a trailer you will need a kit like the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900 which includes 2 ball mounts with different rise/drop measurements, hitch pins, a 1-7/8" and 2" hitch ball.
The 4-Way Wiring # C56355 will allow you to connect to most small trailers or Auxiliary Lights # C53201. If your trailer has electric brakes you will need to add a 7-Way # ETBC7. This kit contains the wiring for running a charge line as well as installing a Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR.
