Is There a Trailer Hitch Receiver Rated For Weight Distribution For a 2016 Audi Q5?
Question:
Im looking at your tow hitch #75940 for my 2016 Audi Q5. I want to be able to tow a 1900lb travel trailer dry weight, the car is rated for 4400lbs as long as the trailer has brakes, which it does. I was thinking on also using a weight distribution hookup but I just saw that this hitch is not rated for that? Whats the problem? Do you have one that is rated for weight distribution for the 2016 Audi Q5? Thanks.

As the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75940 and all of our other receivers for your 2016 Audi Q5 are not rated for use with a weight distribution hitch this leads me to believe your chassis cannot support the use of a weight distribution hitch. While I could not find any specific information to confirm this the only mention I see of it in your owners manual is to referring to the loading of luggage between your vehicle and trailer when towing.
The 4-Way Harness # C56404 and 7-Way Kit # ETBC7 are needed since you will need to add a brake controller. I recommend using the Redarc Liberty # RED52VR controller as it uses a small dash mounted control knob rather than a large box mounted to your dash. It is also a proportional controller which senses your braking force and adjusts the power sent to the trailer brakes. This means you will have less adjustments to the brakes while you drive than a traditional controller.
