Recommended Replacement For A 6345 Converter Section

Question:

We have a 2001 dodge Roadtrek. We are wondering about replacing the 6300 Q series model 6345.. 45amp converter? We are wondering about having an electrician replace the entire box? Is it usually just a component that’s replaced or the whole box? And, do you sell all of that?

If you're only wanting to replace the converter and your unit is a Parallax/Magnetek then you can simply swap out the converter section with part # PD4645V. If you're looking to replace the entire power center then you would need the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series Mini RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4045KA. Installation isn't hard, but you are working on things that could potentially harm you or your trailer if installed incorrectly so if you wouldn't feel comfortable completing the installation then I would definitely recommend hiring a local electrician.

Older model power centers are bit bigger usually so when I run into an issue where there would be a gap I'll get a 1/4" thick piece of wood and cut it to cover up the old hole with enough room to screw it into the wall and cut a smaller hole for the new power center to sit in. This will eliminate any gaps and allow you to center the unit in the hole for a more professional look. I typically just paint the wood black to match the power center but you could stain/paint it to match the wall it's on.
