Parts Needed To Properly Transfer Light Signals From A Honda Goldwing To A Motorcycle Trailer

Question:

I have a 2022 goldwing with a 5 flat connector. My motorcycle trailer has a 4 flat. Can they be connected? The bike is splitting the brake and tail lights. The trailer has them combined. Help

While there currently isn't an adapter to easily go from the 4-pole connector on your trailer to the 5-pole connector on your Goldwing I do still have a solution for you. You'll need to cut off the 4-pole connector on the trailer and splice in a 5-pole connector like part # HM37918. You can just cap off the reverse light wire with some electrical tape and if you ever wanted to install reverse lights on the trailer you could then run a line off it it. I recommend using some heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10 for a waterproof connection.

If your Goldwing has separate tail light circuits and the trailer has combined tail light circuits then you will need part # RM-732 as well. If the motorcycle has combined tail light circuits and the trailer has separate tail light circuits then you will need a 2-to-3 converter like part # C56196.

This should allow you to connect your trailer to the motorcycle and fix any signal issues you might be facing.
