Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2013 Ford F250 with Service Body
Question:
Ive got a 2013 F250 with a service body in place of the standard bed. Its heavy all on its own and with the tools I carry in the storage compartments, the truck sits about two inches lower in the rear. Id like to level it out. I also occasionally add about 2000 pounds of additional load to the bed when hauling pallets of seed. And also occasionally tow a relatively tongue heavy rear hitch mounted trailer. This is only a few times per year and never very far, but as it is right now either addition comes close to bottoming out the suspension. It seems to me that the rubber spring helpers might help level the truck. Im not sure though and wonder if the additional loads I occasionally subject the truck to would overwhelm the rubber helper springs. Im also willing to go with an air bag suspension if necessary, but if I can save some money and have a simpler set up, that would be preferable. So, will these rubber spring helpers be adequate?

We have a Timbren Aeon Spring system that is specifically designed for service-body truck and has the high capacity necessary for such a vehicle, part # TFRTT350F. The springs will add extra support to your rear suspension, and will become progressively stiffer as more weight is added.
A weight distribution system would work best for combating the squat you experience when towing, but the Timbren system will help somewhat. Since you tow infrequently and for short distances, you can probably get by without one.
Ordinarily, I might recommend an air bag system because you can adjust it according to the weight you are carrying, but the offerings for your vehicle have a 5000 lb capacity. Since the typical service body weighs between 2000-3500 lbs, adding the weight of your tools on top of that will probably exceed the 5000 lb capacity pretty quickly.
