How To Test For A Bad Outlet In Your RV
Question:
Our Furrion fireplace quit working. We took it out and plugged it into another outlet and it worked fine. We replaced the original outlet with a new outlet. It would not work on that new outlet. How do I trace down the problem on the original wiring to see why the new one would not work?

When you replaced the outlet did you also reset the circuit breaker powering the outlet? Some times circuit breakers will trip but won't fully pop back so I recommend pulling the breaker back to the off position and then flip it back to the on position. You can then go to the outlet and test the voltage with a multimeter # PT89ZR to ensure that power is getting to it. If not then you would just have to physically follow the wire behind the walls to see if there was any damage to it. You could also use your multimeter to test the circuit breaker to see if it's sending out power or if it's defective and needs to be replaced.
