Available Crossbar Lengths for Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Racks for 2018 Subaru Crosstrek

Hello, Using your fit guide for roof racks four our 2018 Subaru Crosstrek, the results for the Rhino Rack brand had a 46 inch crossbar and a 31-inch, JA7973. Both are their oval Vortex bars. So how can two such different bar lengths both fit my car?

The two very different crossbar lengths for your 2018 Crosstrek, about 46- and 31-inches, result from the two different mounting systems that can be used on the car.

The two 31-inch roof racks # JA7973 (black) and # JA7954 (silver) both use an attachment system that grips the car's roof side rails; the crossbars terminate in these "feet" on these two racks rather than extending out past the rack feet as with the other two roof racks.

Those other racks use the longer 46-inch bars that stick out past the feet. This rack consists of parts # RRVA118B-2 and # RRSX100.
