Recommended Dual Ball Mount for Using a Bike Rack While Flat Towing a Vehicle
Question:
Good morning. I flat tow my wrangler behind my class A and have a trailer hitch bike rack. My wrangler sits very high and the angle from motorhome to wrangler is beyond 3”. Trying to find options to raise my hitch on motorhome to be more level with the wrangler. I am seeing you sell the Gen-Y Phantom Hitch Ball Mount - 2 Hitch - 5K - 11 . On paper this looks great. Wrangler weights just under 4000 pounds 2door and my bike is only 30. Don’t see anyone using this product in my intended way. Want to install in an upward manor. Connect blue ox tow bar to a middle point so it’s level and then install my bike rack on the highest opening to clear jeep. Is this an option to safely travel? Any other suggestions?

You are on the right track but you need to use the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers item # 325-GH-315 instead. This ball mount is rated to be used with a flat towing set up and a bike rack.
The Gen-Y Phantom Hitch Ball Mount item # GY27VR can only be used with Gen-Y accessories. It's not built strong enough to support a flat towed vehicle and a bike rack.
If you don't have any intention of using the ball mount to tow a trailer, then I recommend just getting the Replacement Shank for Gen-Y Adjustable Ball Mount item # 325-GH-305. It'll save you some money.
