How to Wire Curt Converter to Filter Out Turn Signal on Center Light
Question:
I texted with robin H once about about filtering out the turn signals from a center tail light. I want the center light to be tail and brake but not blink. I got the Kurt convertor from yall but have a couple of further questions. 1 which of the two green and yellow wires am I hooking into the tail light wiring? right or left, or both? 2 can I make all these connections up front at the hitch. I have the pigtail with the junction box built on. Make them there?

You can splice in the converter wherever you want. If it is at the front you will just have to run extra wire back to the rear for that center light. You can use # DW02508-1 if you want to keep it consistent with red. You don't want to filter out the stop for your regular tail lights so the wires running to them now need to stay the way they are.
I went ahead and attached a wiring diagram for the # C56196 to the original answer and down below. If you aren't sure what the functions are on the trailer wiring to hook up, I would test them with a circuit tester like # PTW2993. You said this is a vintage trailer and sometimes wiring colors don't match or there are a lot of wires on the trailer. Whatever is carrying the combined signal needs to get filtered through the converter and then you will run the red stop wire back to the center light.
