Camper Tie-Down Option For 1967 GMC C2500

Question:

I have a 1967 GMC C2500 8ft. bed, 8 lug W/power disc front brakes conversion, Dana 60 1 ton rear end, GWV 7500lbs trk ID tag. Do you have a frame tie down brace system to fit to hold down a truck camper? or ideas?

Expert Reply:

There aren't any frame tie-downs for your 1967 GMC C2500 but there is a possible option for bed-mounted tie-downs. I say possible because it is going to depend on a few things. So long as your external bed rail width is 5-1/2" or less, you have at least 2" of space beneath the lip of your bed rail and you do not have any type of drop-in bed liner, double-walled bed, or side-step bed (which you shouldn't with your truck but I just want to be thorough), then what you can use are tie-downs from Brophy:

- Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs - Bed Mount # HSSF

Then for compatible turnbuckles you would need the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles w/ Hardware # TDHP.
