Will Thule Pulse Cargo Box # TH614 Fit Factory Roof Crossbars on 2008 Acura MDX
Question:
I have a 2008 Acura MDX with factory crossbars and rails. I am looking at a 2200 mile road trip in the near future. My questions are: 1, Will this carrier fit my car without having to buy additional adapters to mount it? 2. Will the carrier interfere with satellite reception from the rear antenna navigation system and Sirius XM radio? 3. How water tight us the carrier? Will I need to place all cargo in plastic bags? Thanks!

The Thule rooftop cargo box you referenced, their 14-cubic-foot Pulse Medium, part # TH614, will directly fit the factory roof crossbars on your 2008 Acura MDX without the need for any additional components. The Pulse M also will not interfere with the opening of your rear hatch. I have linked an installation video for your reference.
Although Thule does not formally test-fit their cargo boxes for antenna clearance you should not experience any disruption to your satellite navigation or radio reception from the presence of this cargo box since its ABS plastic construction should not interfere with those signals.
The Pulse M features a one-piece lid that when closed extends down over the top edge of the lower portion; this is why Thule describes the box as being weather-resistant. This feature provides excellent resistance to the entry of moisture. It is possible that at highways speeds in a severe rain storm that some moisture might be able to enter the box, but this would occur only under extreme conditions. Delicate articles placed in the Pulse L could be provided some extra protection by bagging them in plastic before loading, but again, this would not be necessary except under severe conditions.
It is always a good idea to check the vehicle owners manual for any roof weight limitations before loading our cargo. The vehicle roof weight limit will include the weight of the cargo box itself (34-lbs) plus the weight of your loaded cargo. You will want to ensure the combined weight of the box and cargo remains within the maximum allowed for your MDX. The Pulse M has a loaded cargo weight capacity of 110-lbs but the vehicle may have a different capacity; the lower of the two ratings must be observed.
I have linked an article on roof cargo boxes that might be helpful.
