Install Video for Tekonsha ZCI Kit for 2022 Audi Q5

Question:

Hi, I recently had a Tekonsha #119250/119251 ZCI ModuLite installed by U-Haul in Ames,IA along with a trailer hitch in my 2022 Audi Q5 45 TFSI S Line Premium Plus. When I hook up my Kuat Piston Pro X bike rack’s wiring, the running lights aren’t lit up, but the turn signals and brake light work. When the car is turned off, the lights on the Kuat bike rack sometimes stay on, or come off and on when the car isn’t running. I don’t have installation instructions, have seen them online, but I see the UHaul technician cut off the red magnetic sensor, but left 3 - the yellow, the green and the brown. I don’t know if the wiring to my Audi is a BT wiring code, but if so, I’m thinking the tech cut off the red magnetic sensor that he was supposed to use and is using the brown sensor that he’s not to be using. I took the fuse out of the Tekonsha, reversed the brown sensor, and that didn’t help, running lights still not right, and lights stayed off when car is off. Can you check in the wiring code on my vehicle, confirm it’s a BT type, and if so help me troubleshoot the issues I’m having. UHaul didn’t give me the red sensor he cut off, if I need that red one, I’m toast. Thanks for your help,

We actually had the chance to install the # 119250KIT on a similar 2018 Audi Q5 which I attached link to on this page. Use it as a guide to verify that everything on your vehicle is wired up properly.
