What is Gained by Going to Larger Trailer Tire Size
Question:
I need to replace the tires on my 2018 Heartland Mallard M25. I bought it new. It came with 205/14r tires. My questions are could I safely switch to a 15 rim and a larger tire size like a 215 or 225 and if I could would it be worth the extra expense/would I benefit from doing it? Also if a stayed with the 14 rims could I safely go from the 205 to a 215 or 225 tire and if I could would it be worth the extra expense and would I benefit from it? Thanking you in advance for your time

Going with a larger tire size basically just give you a higher weight capacity to work with. There's a bit less rolling resistance and in theory bumps won't feel quite a big but for the size differences you are considering you really won't notice much except for a slight change in height (probably won't notice it actually) and a higher weight capacity which you may not even need.
To go to a larger size you need to make sure you have the needed clearance to do so. You'll want to make sure you have an inch to the inside of the tires and also at least 4 inches above the tire.
