Weight Distribution Hitch For 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 31BHDS With Underslung Coupler
Question:
I have questions about this hitch - do you recommend this for my set up: 2019 Ram 2500 with full cab and 8 ft box or bed 2006 Jayco Jayflight 31bhds And also which replacement hitch coupler would you recommend for the trailer? If not this one - then is there another weight distribution system system you would recommend? Much appreciated, thank you.

We can get you set up with a weight distribution hitch for your 2006 Jayco Jay Flight 31BHDS, though the SwayPro # BXW2000 isn't rated correctly for that trailer. That hitch is for tongue weights between 1,500 lbs and 2,000 lbs, andthe '06 Jay Flight 31BHDS has a 9,000 lb GVWR, so your tongue weight is going to be in the 1,100 lb - 1,200 lb range. From my research it looks as if the trailer also has an underslung coupler, so what you need is the following:
- Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - Clamp On - Underslung # BXW1503
The # BXW1503 is for underslung couplers and for tongue weights between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs so it's perfect for your set up. Getting the correctly rated hitch is important because otherwise the system won't be effective. The SwayPro is an excellent choice - it'll level you out, give you top-notch sway control and is easy to set up.
It also comes with a 2" shank so if you have a 2-1/2" hitch you'll need a different shank (there isn't an option for one that comes with a 2-1/2" shank included), the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2-1/2" Hitch # BXW4028.
And finally, for a replacement coupler for your camper, our only option for an underslung A-frame coupler is the A-Frame Trailer Coupler - Underslung # CA-5335-B.
