Recommended Brake Controller and Installation Method on a 2018 Chevy Traverse
Question:
I have a 2018 Chevrolet traverse tow package ready can I use the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional

Yes, you can install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller item # 90885 in your 2018 Chevy Traverse. The universal wiring harness needed for installation is included with the brake controller along with a mounting bracket. The 2018 Traverse's do not have a port to plug in adapter so you will need to hardware the P2 or any traditional brake controller you are wanting to install.
The only other option if you are not wanting to hardware a controller is to use the Curt Echo Wireless Brake Controller item # C51180. The Echo plugs directly into your Traverse's 7-Way connector and allows you to control the settings through an app on your phone. The Echo is also a proportional brake controller that slows or stops your trailer when your Traverse decelerates. It uses Bluetooth to communicate with your phone so you will never have to worry about losing signal.
The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # 3026-P, you were looking at, only works on 2013 - 2017 Traverses.
