Is A 2-Speed Jack Easier To Crank Than A Single-Speed For Grain Cart With 6500 LB Tongue Weight

I was wondering if I put this on a grain cart, when loaded is around 6500 pounds of tongue weight. Would it be hard to crank, or should I go with the one with the two speed? Thanks,

The benefit of the two-speed jack like part # BD183750, would be the speed at which you can turn the handle. When using the low gear the jack will lift 1 inch every 29-1/2 turns. When used in high gear it will lift 1 inch every 9 turns. Although it may be a bit easier to turn in low gear, you would have to crank the handle more than three time as much to lift the same height.

The Bulldog Square Jack, part # BD182701, you referenced, has a lift capacity of 12500 lbs and a static weight capacity of 25000 lbs so it should be able to handle your grain cart with the tongue weight of 6500 lbs. This has a drop leg travel of 13-1/2 inches and an additional cranking lift of 12-1/2 inches. This has a direct-weld design and includes a standard footplate. The Bulldog Sidewind crank, part # BD015181, is sold separately.

Both jacks have easy to access grease fittings.
