Parts Needed to Convert a 58 Shasta Trailer W/ A Two-Wire Setup to a 3-Wire System
Question:
Replacement Bulb and Socket for Blue Ox Tail Light Wiring Kit - Qty 1 Item # 294-0774 The tail lights in my 58 Shasta only have wires for blinkers and brakes. As I am doing a complete re-wire anyway, I want to modify them to have tail lights as well, for driving in the dark or rain. I just want to verify that this socket will provide all 3 types of lights: Blinkers, Brakes and Tail Lights before I carry through with the purchase. I understand it wont be an exact fit, but if they work for all 3 light systems I can make them fit inside the red lens housing. Or maybe you have a better suggestion? Thank you.

The purpose of bulb and socket kits like the Blue Ox Tail Light Wiring Kit # BX8869 for the is to provide brake, turn, and running lights to a towed vehicle by bypassing the OEM wiring.
However, what you're going to want for your 58 Shasta is the Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter # 118158.
This kit is going to embed into your trailer's wiring and will convert your 2-wire system to a 3-wire system by separating the wire for the brakes and turn signals to add a separate turn signal light.
