Does Installation of 4-Way and 7-Way Require Running Separate 12V Power Lines
Question:
I talked to one of your sales reps last week about installing a hitch along with a new four pin wiring system along with the seven pin converting system and the trailer brake system. I noticed in the installation videos that you were supposed to run a 12 V wire for the four pin system and youre also supposed to run another 12 V wire for the trailer braking system. Are both 12 V wires necessary or can we just use the one larger 12 V wire to feed both the trailer brake and the 4 pin?

That is correct, you need to run a 12V wire for a 4-way like the # 118553 to power the converter box, as well as a 2nd 12V power wire for the 7-way # ETBC7. You cannot do this with a single wire. There are different power requirements for each, and you would likely overdraw the wiring harness and damage the converter. Running both wires is necessary and ensures everything works as intended.
I have attached some installation videos below for your reference.
