The hinges used on the strut assist models are a bit different than the models without the strut assist so you would unfortunately have to replace your entire step and strut. If you don't know what specific model you have then we'll need to know your entry height (measurement from the ground up to the door threshold) and the door width (flange to flange measurement) in order to pick out the correct replacement.

For example, the MORryde StepAbove RV Steps with Strut Assist # MR75RR you were looking has a 23-3/4" to 24-1/4" door width range and 36-1/2" to 42-1/2" entry height range.
