what does excluding sport mean? My Subaru has sport shift but other than that it is a regular wagon

Sport would be a trim package. That sport shifter option on your transmission wouldn't indicate that your 2006 Outback has the Sport package. You can check your owner's manual or call a dealership and give them your VIN to confirm what model you have.
Since your 2006 Outback wagon is the standard model the Draw-Tite Hitch item # 36334 would fit your vehicle. This hitch is custom fit and bolts to your Subaru with included hardware. This is only a class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver so your capacity and ability to use a wider range of accessories will be limited. I recommend installing the Draw-Tite item # 75560 instead. This is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver.
If you are planning on towing a trailer or want to install lights on a bike rack or cargo carrier you will need the Curt 4-Way Wiring Harness item # C55370.
