How old is too old for trailer tires? Also if there are any cracks in sidewall, should they be replaced?

Expert Reply:

The average lifespan of a trailer tire is anywhere from three to five years based on several factors. That said, if you have cracks in the sidewall then that means the tire needs replaced as it increases the chance for a blowout. The cracks are caused by weather so if you want to prevent them in the future, use some tire covers while the trailer is not in use.

In regards to the Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire part # AM10234, you could use the Adco Ultra Tyre Gard RV Tire Covers part # 290-3973. I have attached our full list if you have a different size.
