How Old is Too Old for Trailer Tires and When Do They Need Replaced
Question:
How old is too old for trailer tires? Also if there are any cracks in sidewall, should they be replaced?
asked by: Joe
Expert Reply:
The average lifespan of a trailer tire is anywhere from three to five years based on several factors. That said, if you have cracks in the sidewall then that means the tire needs replaced as it increases the chance for a blowout. The cracks are caused by weather so if you want to prevent them in the future, use some tire covers while the trailer is not in use.
