Does the Hopkins Tow Doctor Trailer End Test Unit Test Both the Trailer and Vehicle Side
Question:
Can you test the vehicle trailer output also? Does the same kit test both the vehicle and the trailer?

Expert Reply:
No, the Hopkins Tow Doctor Trailer End Test Unit # HM50928 does not work for both the vehicle and trailer end. The test unit is basically simulating the power from the vehicle and the adapters included allow for the trailer plug to hook up, but not the vehicle as well since it is simulating the vehicle itself.
To test the vehicle end, you can use the Pollak 7-Way to RV Socket LED Circuit Tester # PK12741 for a vehicle 7-way or the Brophy Circuit Tester for 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # F4CT to test a vehicle 4-way.
