How to Determine Correct Electric Trailer Brakes
Question:
Please advise of what information you need to determine proper trailer brakes I need. I am pulling a 22 foot pontoon boat with an f250. I have electronic brakes for my tractor trailer. What should I get for the boat trailer? It is usually put in fresh water but once a year in salt water. Thanks.

To determine the brake assemblies that will fit your trailer, you need to know your axle's weight capacity, your mounting flange bolt pattern and the inside diameter and depth of your drum. For example, the Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-35 are for 3,500 lb axles, measure 10" diameter x 2-1/4" wide (so that is the drum size they fit in) and fit a 4-bolt mounting flange that has bolt holes which measure 2-7/8" apart on center like Mounting Flange # 4-35.
I have added a link below to our entire selection of electric brakes for you to come back to once you know this information.
