Fit of Flint Hill Goods Aluminum Cargo Carrier # FHG69ZR on 2008 Mazda CX-9

Question:

I have a 2008 Mazda CX9. The clearence from the hitch to the ground is 11 inches. The hitch is rated at 400 lbs Class III. Ill be hauling a snowblower or a generator. I checked my vehicle and model on your website but the cart with ramp that Im interested in didnt come up. Will the Flint Hill Goods 30 X 50 Cargo Carrier with Ramp - 2inch Hitches - Aluminum - 500 lbs fhg69zr work with my vehicle? Also, because the snowblower is large 24inch Ariens, how high does the gate come up when closed. Thank you

Because a cargo carrier is not a vehicle specific item, we do not have it listed in our fitguide, which will explain why you did not find it when you ran your vehicle.

When we installed a hitch on a 2008 CX-9, we found that the distance from the hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward point of the rear bumper was between 4-3/4 and 5 inches. Since the Flint Hill Goods Cargo Carrier you referenced provides 8-1/2 inches of clearance when fom the center of the hitch pin hole, it will fit your CX-9 just fine.

Although the carrier itself has a 500 lb capacity, you might be limited by the tongue weight capacity of the vehicle or the hitch, if it is lower. The hitches we offer for your vehicle have either a 350 or a 400 lb tongue weight capacity (maximum amount of downward force that can safely be applied to hitch) and you said that you had the 400 lb hitch. You will need to abide by the capacity of whichever component has the lowest capacity, the hitch or the vehicle.

The ramp on the carrier is 60 inches long. Check out the product demonstration video of the carrier by clicking the link.
