Recommended Hitch for a Trailer w/ a 70 Inch Wide Frame

Question:

Hi I have a XLR boost 43 foot toy hauler and it’s a fifth wheel and we want to put a hitch on the back of it to tow my Jeep. My Jeep is a 2019 JL rubicon. Do you have and recommendations for us ? My husband is a John Deere mechanic and can put it on but we need to know what kind of hitch to put on the back of toy hauler my jeeps weighs 5800 lbs and the frame of camper is 70 inches to the outside. You were recommended by a general here in Georgia. Please get back to me with any help you can give us.

The highest capacity hitch for a frame that is 70" wide is going to be the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs item # 13703. This hitch is the only one we have that will work with your Forest River XLR Boost Toy Hauler. It has a 2" receiver and tops out at 3,500 lbs capacity.

You will want to check with Forest River to see what your trailer's capacity is. I do not think your trailer is going to be rated to flat tow a 5,800 lbs vehicle. They might have a better option for you if it is.

I have linked an installation video below.
