Replacement Hanger and Leaf Spring Recommendations for 1996 Lowe 170 Boat Trailer

Question:

I have 21” cen to cen hangers on my boat trailer. What length eye to eye spring would I use with shackles? What length slipper springs? The trailer is a 1996 Lowe for a 170. Thanks.

For a single axle trailer you want the leaf spring to be a little longer than the eye to eye measurement. Since all of our options are either a little below or a bit more than the 21" distance you measured I recommend cutting off the old hangers and having new ones welded on - this isn't uncommon for older trailers since they used parts that weren't part of a standardized setup.

You'll want the distance between the bolt holes on the hangers to measure 20" center to center.
