Is There a 3,500 Lb Idler Hub with Hub Bore Less Than 64MM
Question:
I have an axle for my utility trailer, its 3500lbs straight axle idler, the hub assembly is 5 x 4.5 and the bore is 64.1 mm. My question is, I have wheels that I want to use but the bore of the wheel is slightly too small, somewhere around 63mm - 63.8mm give or take, I forget the exact number but smaller than 64.1mm. Can I simple remove the hubs that came with the axle and replace them with hubs that have a smaller bore? Obviously just enough for my wheels, nothing drastic. I dont know if I have to change the axle to accommodate for a hub with a smaller bore or could I simple just change the hubs of the axle. Thanks

I do have an option for you but the standard size hub bore for a 3,500 Lb Idler Hub is 2.59". In order to obtain a smaller hub bore you'd need to step down to a 2,200 lb or 2,000 lb axle and in which case the standard hub bore size is 2.25". I can't imagine you'd be willing to reduce the axle capacity so you can use your wheels but if so, I have attached for you below a list of options.
