The Tekonsha Voyager Trailer Brake Controller part # 39510 is what I recommend for 2004 Ford F-150. In order to install the brake controller you'll need the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3035-P which makes for plug-in-play. This is a proportional controller which is the most up to date design. It will screw into the dash and give you full control of the brakes.
