Running Power Wire to 7-Way on Ford F-150
Question:
I have a 2013 f150 xlt 4x4 with an error message during towing “wiring fault on trailer” but I noticed after testing that do not have 12v on my 7 pin connector on the truck. Any idea what could be the problem for this error message

The error message is something you'll have to get looked at by Ford or a mechanic, but not having 12 volt power on the 7-way of your F-150 is something you can remedy. What you will do is activate it by purchasing the appropriate amount of 10 gauge wire # 10-1-1 (sold by the foot) as well as 40 amp In-Line Circuit Breaker # 9510 and run the wire from the positive battery terminal through the circuit breaker to the 1:00 pin on you F-150's 7-way, which is the 12 volt circuit.
