How Much Clearance Is Required For the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # KOD59FR?

Question:

Im designing a stock trailer and am planning to use these disc brake assemblies. What inboard distance will I need for caliper clearance from the wheel mounting face on the rotor to the trailer frame? Better yet, do you have a .stp file of the assembly that I can use in my design model? The literature says they will work with 13, 14, and 15inch wheels. Im assuming they also work with a 16inch wheel? Thanks in advance for your help!

From the face of the brake bolt flange you will need at least 2-1/2" of clearance for the caliper in the Kodiak Disk Brake Kit # KOD59FR to not hit the trailer frame. This measurement is also going to be 5.57" from the hub face which will help you determine how much clearance is needed for your tires. Typically you will want at least 1" of sidewall clearance for the tires.

Yes, this will work with 16" trailer wheels if you are able to find them with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. This is why we only list with 13", 14" and 15" wheels.
