Air Bag Helper Springs & Ride Height Air Control 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Adaptive Ride Control

Question:

Just purchased 2020. GMC Sierra Denali 1500 4WD. Have seen mixed information on whether or not Firestone airbags work with the adaptive ride control. Ive seen recommendations for active suspension products 4611 -hd or 4611 but I believe that will raise the back end 2 and result in a harsher ride. Is there anything preventing me from using airbags with the smart Air 2 system? Will it throw error codes? Much prefer the solution so that I dont affect my everyday ride. Just get help with towing a boat when needed.

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2609 are compatible with your 2020 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 4wd having the adaptive ride control. The adaptive ride control uses sensors to monitor the wheel position with the body and adjusts rebound and dampening on the shocks to give a better ride. The air springs will not cause a harsher ride like some other systems.

The Firestone # F2186-2047 will also work with your Sierra. The sensor on it detects ride height changes and will increase the pressure inside your springs when it sees the rear end begin to sag from added weight. With the added support it gives your suspension it will give you a better ride when towing as the compression dampening will not be increased due to rear end sag. I can't see any reason having this would cause any error codes to be thrown for the adaptive ride control.
