Wiring In A Roadmaster EvenBrake ICX Transmitter On A 2015 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

I am setting up a second car for towing a 2015 Wrangler JK Sport with parts I recently bought from you. The brake controller is an EvenBrake. I am using and external lighting system something like magnetic lights. I know that I need to connect pin 1 of the ICX transmitter to the cold side of the brake light switch. I have a couple of questions: 1. What does cold-side mean? Does it mean that when the brake is not applied the connection is open and when the brake is applied that connection provides 12V? 2. What does pin 1 on the ICX transmitter expect on pin 1 open when the brake is not pushed and 12V when it is pushed? 3. Do you happen to know what pin I should be connecting to on the brake light switch on my 2015 jeep jk

The cold side of the brake light switch is the wire that only receives power when the brake pedal is depressed. When the brake pedal is depressed the circuit closes sending the signal out that the brakes are being applied. When you connect to pin 1 of the ICX Transmitter of the Roadmaster EvenBrake # RM-9400 it will send 12v power to that pin any time the brake pedal is depressed.

The brake light switch wire on your 2015 Jeep Wrangler is usable and is colored white and brown. You'll splice into this wire and run it to terminal 1 on the ICX Transmitter.
