How to Determine if a 2012 Ford F150 Supercrew Will have Enough Clearance to make a 90 Degree Turn

Question:

I have a 2012 ford f150 supercrew and need to put a gooseneck hitch in it. I will have a flat top trailer hauling 10000lbs and need to know if your hitch will work without hitting the back of my cab.

There are a lot of things to consider when determining if a truck will have clearance to make a 90 degree turn. The most important factor right now is what is the length of your bed? I did some research and it looks like the Supercrew came in 6-1/2 ft and 5-1/2 ft bed lengths.

What does the nose of your trailer look like? Is it a v-nose? If not, can you tell me what the width of the front of your trailer is? There is a formula you can use to determine if you have enough clearance to make a 90 degree turn with a setup.

(A + B) - C = Clearance
A = Distance from the gooseneck ball to the truck cab (since you do not have a hitch yet you can use the center of the rear axle to the cab)
B = Offset used, like if you used a Offset Extension Ball # 19308
C = Width of the nose of the trailer divided by 2.
