Can 2 Sets of The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspensions # ASR2KHDS02 Be Used To Create Tandem Axle?
Question:
I have 2000 boat trailer. Hard to read the axel label. Im guessing 2500 per axel. My boat and motor weigh about 2050#. Having trouble finding torsion axels that work. Can I use 2 2000# axel less torsion and still be safe on load?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes, you can use 2 of the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspensions # ASR2KHDS02 to create a tandem axle on your boat trailer. Just know this will not necessarily increase the total weight capacity for your trailer as there are other factors that determine weight capacity. You will need 4 of the Idler Hubs # AKIHUB-545-35-EZ-K or Hub/Drums # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K if you are installing brakes, as these use the larger #84 spindle which is commonly found on 3,500lb axles.
