Can You Switch the Converter Section of a WF-8955pec to Lithium Compatible Before the Batteries

Question:

I currently have a wf-8955pec and want to upgrade to be able to use lithium batteries- can I install this accessory and still use the original batteries or do I need to install this and the lithium at the same time

The Progressive Dynamics Replacement Section # PD4655V is a replacement option for your WF-8955pec, but it is not lithium compatible. We do not have just the converter section for your WF-8955pec available that is lithium compatible.

If you are only wanting to replace the converter section, you can use the Progressive Dynamics PD9100L Series Battery Converter Charger # PD9160ALV. This was not designed to fit in the converter section, but we have had people do it in the past. You would just want to make sure you have enough space to fit it. The system measures 9-3/16" long x 7-3/8" wide x 3-5/8" tall.

If it does not seem like it will fit, often times the cabinets where these are installed are large enough to fit this behind the power center and run the wires through the back. But, the # PD9160ALV only works with lithium; so you would need to make the battery switch at the same time.
