Is There A 2-Wire To 3-Wire Tail Light Converter For LED Trailer Lights Available
Question:
I recently purchased a trailer hitch and wire harness # 56429 for my 2022 Chevy equinox. The output of the wire harness has a 4 wire flat connector. Do you have a combined wire harness/converter for the 2022 Equinox? What is the correct converter to use, as the trailer I will be towing is a 3 wire independent brake light system, with LED lights, 5 wire flat plug. Some converters state not to be used with LED lights Is the converter weather proof as it appears the only place to mount this converter is up behind the rear bumper or on the trailer tongue. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

Unfortunately we do not carry any converters that would work with LED lights so your only options would be to replace your current bulbs with incandescent bulbs (if possible) or replace the entire light with a 2-wire LED option like # TLL9RK.
The Tail Light Converter # 118158 is weatherproof and typically located behind the rear fascia so that you can easily install it. You'll just want to use heat shrink butt connectors # DW05744-10 for your connections to prevent water from compromising the wiring.
That being said, with the only solution here being you replacing the lights on the trailer you wouldn't need the # 118158.
