There's won't be much of a difference in decibels when switching air conditioner sizes but there is when switching brands. The quietest units we offer are from Furrion, the Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System part # FR52PR for 13,500 BTU or part # FR92PR for 15,000 BTU. These units both run around 60 dB's inside and 80dB's outside. If you can let me know what brand of unit you have now, I'd be glad to see if we have a setup that will allow you to reuse any existing controls.

For comparison, Advent units can run as high as 76 dB's and Atwood units can run as high as 66 dB's
