Comparing Redarc Liberty and Elite Brake Controllers For a 2014 Toyota Tacoma TRD

Question:

I have a 2014 Tacoma TRD Sport manual and want purchase the Redarc trailer brake system. Ill mainly use it to pull a single axle trailer weighting 2300lbs. A couple questions. - Whats the difference between the liberty and elite version? - do you sell a knob plate to install in one of the blank plate spots on the left side of dash? I didnt see an option specific to the 2005-2015 tacoma. Thanks in advance

The main difference between the Redarc Liberty # RED24FR and Elite # RED44FR is the Elite allows you to switch from proportional braking to a user controlled mode which is more like a timed brake controller. The Elite also allows you to control up to 3 braking axles while the Liberty is proportional only and is able to control up to 2 braking axles. Personally I feel the Liberty is going to be the best option unless you plan on overlanding with a trailer behind your Tacoma.

The Mounting Panel # 331-TPSI-007 will fit the left side of your dash in one of the blanks on your 2014 Toyota Tacoma TRD. If your Tacoma came with the towing package the Plug-and-Play Harness # RED49FR will allow you to connect from the factory connector into either the Redarc Liberty or Elite brake controller.
