Does a Weight Distribution System Add Tongue Weight or Reduce Payload
Question:
Looking at your weight distribution hitches, watching our tongue weight, does the wdh add much to the to tongue or to the truck payload?

Expert Reply:
A weight distribution system does not add tongue weight to the trailer as it becomes part of the vehicle. That said, because it becomes part of the vehicle it will decease your payload but only by the weight of the system which is usually around 100 lbs. If you're looking for a recommendation, I like the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System like part # BXW1000 as it offers some of the best sway control available. It only weighs about 90 lbs. I have attached a full list of options below which you can filter through with your tongue weight.
