To add a 4-way wiring harness to your 2018 Cherokee you are going to want the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness item # C56208. This harness is custom fit and plugs in behind your rear tail lights to your Jeep's wiring. It will provide you with a 4-flat connector that will control a trailer's lighting functions.
If your cargo trailer has brakes you will also need a second harness. I recommended the Universal Installation Kit item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your Jeep with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
I have linked a couple of installation videos below.
If you need a 7-way you will also need a brake controller. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Brake Controller item # 90195 is a great choice for your set up. This is a proportional controller that activates your trailer's brakes in response to your Jeep's deceleration.
