Class II Trailer Hitch Recommendation for a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
Question:
Hi. Getting ready to order either the Draw Tite or Curt hitch. Any preferences and why?

If it were me I would get a Class III, 2 inch trailer hitch because there are more options for accessories. But if you want to go with a Class II hitch there are still many options for bike racks available.
Between Draw-Tite hitch # 36493 and Curt hitch # C12290 I would choose the Draw-Tite trailer hitch for a couple of reasons. First, it costs slightly less and saving money is always a good thing. And second, the Draw-Tite hitch does NOT require the use of a stabilization strap when using the hitch with a bike rack or other non-trailer load. The Curt hitch does have this requirement.
I have included a link to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation for you. If you need some bike rack recommendations I will be happy to help if you can tell me how many bikes you need to carry.
