Recommended 7-Way Connector for a 2006 Ford F-150 w/out the Towing Package
Question:
2006 F150 4x4, I would like to unplug the factory flat 4-way tow harness and plug a 7-way harness. the issue I see with what I find is, My harness point of connection from the truck side is a rectangle clip plug. It has total of three wire branches, one going to the tow plug and the other two Im not sure what they plug into. From the point of connection to tow is +-24. the ones I find have a round attachment to truck connection. only have the tow wire branch and one other branch wiring. and they are 7foot or 10foot long I would just like to unplug and plug the new harness so all the functions work on my trailers. see attached photo, you can see the main connection and the two wire branching out. Let me know if you need additional information.

Thanks for the picture! I have a way to add a 7-way connector to your 2006 Ford F-150 but not one that is going to be able to plug into that harness. It sounds like that plug has more functions anyways so you don't want to disconnect it.
Instead you are going to want the Universal Installation Kit item # ETBC7. The kit includes a pre-wired 7- and 4-way trailer connector that mounts easily at the rear of your F-150 with an included bracket. This kit is designed for use on a vehicle with an existing 4-way flat trailer connector and plugs directly into it.
This is a universal option that taps directly into your existing 4-way connector. You won't have to worry about unplugging an almost 20 year old connector. What you are looking for sounds like it may be an OEM harness if it exists. That will most likely be more expensive but do the same thing.
I have linked an installation video below that will show you what the process to get this 7-way up and running looks like.
