B&W Gooseneck to 5TH Wheel Adapters For a Short Bed 1-Ton Pickup Truck

Question:

I have a newer short box 1 ton truck with the BandW gooseneck built in and just purchased a 35foot 5th wheel travel trailer. Would you recommend the CAB-C5G for me ? my concern is clearance for tight turns would i be better off with a adaptor to 5th wheel that can slide ? thank you

You will be better with either the B&W Companion Slider 5TH Wheel Hitch # BWRVK3400 or the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter w/ Offset # CAB-C5GX1216. Both of these are a better option than the Convert-A-Ball Cushioned 5th-Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter # CAB-C5G. In my opinion the B&W Companion is the best option as it will slide into your B&W gooseneck hitch and allows you to connect directly to the pin box. It travels 12" to the rear to give you the clearance needed to make jack knife turns when needed. The Convert-A-Ball with offset is a great option if you do not want the large 5th wheel hitch in your bed. If you tow on the weekends and use your bed during the week this would be your best option as the B&W is 277lbs and can be difficult to remove.
