Roof Rack and Largest Capacity Cargo Box Recommendation for a 2005 Honda Odyssey

Question:

I want a top carrier that is weather-tight and spacious preferably not long and flat-rather shorter and taller, to store suit-cases. My 2005 Honda Odyssey has top rails mounted on the roof on left and right side front to back but I do not have any cross bars. I guess I could get cross bars if I need them. Finally, I want a top carrier that will mount securely and will not leak, move, whistle, or vibrate on long trips 1000s of miles cross-country, and I want it to be easy to open and close. I appreciate your input.

You are correct that you will need a crossbar system to mount your roof-top cargo carrier. For a cargo carrier your most aerodynamic and weather proof option is to use a cargo box.
