Can a 3rd Transmission Cooler be Added to a 2013 GMC Yukon XL
Question:
I have a 2013 Yukon XL 2500 with a 6L and engine and a Factory Tow Package that includes an auxiliary cooler in front of my AC condenser, but it is small: 11 x 5 x 3/4. The engine cools fine when towing, but the transmission temp is the limiting factor. I want to upgrade to a larger transmission cooler. What size do you recommend? Is the OEM auxiliary cooler replaced, or is the upgraded cooler added to it? And is the GM radiator adaptor recommended if the upgraded cooler is added to the OEM? One of your experts replied to another customer with the same make and model Yukon XL as me and I am now confused me about this issue.

Long story short, yes, you can add ANOTHER cooler to the transmission cooler setup on your 2013 GMC Yukon XL. I'm curious why you are wanting to do this though since it sounds like your engine isn't struggling even when you're towing.
Nevertheless, you just need to make sure you have enough room to fit a third transmission cooler, and that the fittings match up. Our most popular cooler is the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler # D13503 which measures 11" wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep, so if you have enough room I recommend going with this one because of how reliable it is.
The Insta-dapt fitting is designed to fit into the OEM initial cooler so since this one will be the "last" in line you shouldn't need it. The inlet and outlet fittings on this cooler have 11/32" hose barb fittings so if that's what matches the second cooler on your Yukon XL you should be able to make your connections with no issues.
