What Is Needed to Install Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler - Trigger Latch - Zinc - 1-7/8" Ball

Question:

I need to replace my boat trailer coupler. You have several of them on your website and Im not sure which one to get. I have a 1-7/8 ball The trailer bar is 3 wide. So this looks like the right one: https://www.etrailer.com/Straight-Tongue-Trailer-Coupler/etrailer/CT-2003-Z.html Can you tell me which mode I should buy? Do I need to purchase bolts separately? Is there anything else I need to get? Thanks,

Expert Reply:

The Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler part # CT-2003-Z looks to be an excellent replacement for your trailer coupler based on the info and photo you have provided. It doesn't come with hardware and I don't recommend reusing the existing so a trip to your local hardware store would finish up your install. I recommend 1/2"-13 x 4" Grade 5. The other thing I would add but is not required is a lock for security, the etrailer Trailer Coupler Latch Lock part # e98889.
